POLICE specials will join more than 25 businesses taking part in the upcoming jobs fair in Redditch this week.
The Special Constabulary Recruitment Team will attend the event, hosted by Redditch MP Karen Lumley, at 10am until 2pm on Friday (May 13) at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on Evesham Street.
the crew will be promoting volunteer opportunities for people who want to make their community a safer place to live.
A police spokesman said: “Fully-trained Special Constables have full police powers, wear the same police uniform and work alongside regular police officers and police staff. There are also opportunities for promotion, offering the prospect to develop leadership and management skills.
“Special Constables are expected to commit to a minimum of 16 hours a month, although many people do significantly more. Hours can be flexible to fit around work and home life, and it is guaranteed no two shifts will ever be the same.”
