A FORMER poet laureate helped Birchensale Middle School pupils release their creativeness.
Spoz led a slam poetry session for Year 7 students, with each group competing against each other for the best performance.
The winning group will now go on to compete against other schools in the county at a Slam Poetry Final to be held at the Palace Theatre later on in the year.
Laura Ridgewell, acting head of English, said: “The students found the session really inspiring and had lots of fun, whilst still learning poetic techniques.
“Spoz made poetry cool, the students are now eager to take their poetry skills back to the classroom.”
