Staff and students are pink ladies at thinking pink

STAFF and students at Trinity High School & Sixth Form Centre took part in their own ‘Race For Life’ to raise awareness of cancer and to raise money for charity last Friday (October 23) for their second annual Pink Friday.

After lessons had ended for the day, Trinity’s ‘Pink Ladies’ and ‘Pink Lads’ took part in a mass warm up before tackling either a 5k or 1.5k circuit around the school site, with many being sponsored.

Despite the disappointing weather, participants ran, jogged, walked and hobbled their way round to raise awareness and money for the cause.

There were many differences from the 2014 event, as boys and men were enthusiastically participating alongside the women and girls, to raise awareness of cancers affecting both genders.

For those not participating in the actual race, there was plenty of cheering and refreshments provided. In addition to this, for the whole day, students and staff wore non-school uniform with a pink theme, making a £1 donation to the Wendy Gough Foundation www.wgcaf.com .
