THE distinguished artist Tom Denny visited St Peter’s Church, Ipsley, on Wednesday (August 24) to see the Stained Glass window he designed and created six years ago in memory of Canon Ray Adams, a much-loved past incumbent of the Church.
Tom gave a brief talk about the window, how it was made and the messages it contains in the glass pictures, which contains resourced local glass.
Tom has created beautiful stained glass windows in the cathedrals of Gloucester, Hereford and Durham and the church in Martley, Worcestershire among others.
His recent works can be seen in Leicester Cathedral as part of the Richard III commemorations. Entitled ‘The Final Act’ it tells the story of the king’s re- internment.
Visitors to St Peter’s are welcome as Open Church will continue until Tuesday (August 30) or by prior arrangement with the Church office 01527 516351.
