WALKERS can put their best foot forward in Alcester to help raise awareness of dementia.
More than 9,000 people have already signed up to become a Dementia Friend – an initiative, which aims to give people a better understanding of the condition.
But the county council is hoping to hit its target of 10,000 friends during World Alzheimer’s Month and has organised an event next week in a bid to get more people involved.
Three walks – lasting 75 minutes, 30 minutes and around 15 minutes – will start at Jubilee Hall on St Faith’s Road from 10.30am next Sunday (September 20).
Lunch will also be available between noon and 1.30pm at a cost of £2. Email [email protected] for further information or call Carole on 01789 488088 to book lunch.
