THIS year’s Pride of Redditch judges certainly know their community and are hoping to be spoilt for choice when deciding this years’ winners.
Tanweer Dean, who was a 2013 Pride of Redditch winner herself, is a first time judge along with Ross Crawford, Editor of the Standard. They will be joining longstanding judge Affy Qadeer, local entrepreneur, who has been involved in Pride of Redditch since its inception three years ago.
The judges want your nominations for individuals, groups or businesses who have gone the extra mile to help others, before 5pm Friday, November 20. Make sure you send that email or complete the form to let the judges know your local hero.
“There are lots of people out there who deserve recognition and so often they’re doing the little things that make such a big difference to people’s lives. Well, it is time all their efforts were recognised,” said Ross Crawford.
“There’s still time to enter, so get writing!”
Organiser Rebecca Blake said: “Over the years its been a real strength of the awards that the volunteer judges have had a wide variety of local experience between them.
“This year I am delighted to have Tanweer, a community leader in her own right and Ross the Editor of the Standard who takes more than just a professional interest in the town on board. They will join Affy – our very own Simon Cowell – who I’m pleased to say is much kinder, in making the difficult decisions between the nominations.”
Nominations are open until 5pm Friday 20th November and can be made online by visiting www.prideofredditch.org.uk / via email firstname.lastname@example.org or submitting this nomination form to the Redditch Standard, Webb House, Church Green East, Redditch, B98 8BP. Extra forms can be collected from the Redditch Standard or printed from the Pride of Redditch website.
People wanting more information can email or call 07739 565 241. When making nominations please do your best to make sure nominees are available for the awards evening on Friday, December 11 – further details tbc in the Standard.
