MOTIVATION was the theme of the day at a Studley school when an inspiring visitor spoke to pupils.
Studley High School students met speaker Jim Roberson who encouraged them to follow their dreams.
The American has been supporting parents, teachers and pupils in the UK for the last 23 years.
As a youngster he was recognised for his sporting talent and became the first African American child to attend Bronxville High School in New York, before getting a full athletic scholarship to the University of Rhode Island.
He became part of their successful American football team and after leaving university he soon found his feet as a football coach at the school he had formerly attended before becoming a coach in the UK.
Mr Roberson spoke about ways of revising, disciplining yourself to be ambitious and always trying your best.
After speaking to the pupils he said: “I was in front of some really capable young people.
“Their education at Studley High is the key to unlocking a world of opportunities.”
