STUDLEY students have presented Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a cheque for £500 in the memory of their friend Jordan Smith who died last year.

The year 11 music practitioner pupils at Studley High School handed the money over on Tuesday (May 17) after holding the fund-raising concert for residents where they performed a range of musical genres from rap music to Guns N Roses.

The youngsters organised the event to honour Jordan who passed at just 16-years-old after a long fight with his congenital heart defect.

Miss Charlie McKenzie, the pupils’ music teacher said: ‘This has been a true reflection of the talent and creativity at Studley High, combined with a sense of compassion for Jordan and support of such a worthwhile cause’
