Studley resident catches up to the Queen with 90th birthday

Redditch Editorial 1st Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

STUDLEY resident, Barbara, recently celebrated her 90th birthday, just like Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Home Instead Senior Care has been providing Barbara with at home care for the past year, and Annie Dixon Dunn, owner of Home Instead, along with Barbara’s care givers celebrated the momentous occasion with Barbara and her beloved dog, Alfie.

There was cake, candles, balloons and lots of birthday cheer.

Barbara has always had a great love of animals and spent many years breeding and training horses as well as other animals. In her prime, she was very involved with horses and her house is adorned with incredible photographs of Barbara taking part in show jumping competitions; something she is very proud of.

Every day, Barbara and her devoted dog spend quality time together, playing ball games and walking in the local fields. They have a very special bond and Barbara says that he is such an important part of her life.

Barbara is widowed and has three sons, whom she sees every few weeks.

“It was so lovely to spend Barbara’s 90th birthday with her. We have been looking after Barbara in her own home for the past year and wanted to give her something special, so we presented her with a Queen’s 90th Birthday 2016 Fine Silver Coin to mark the special occasion. We had a lovely time, and of course Alfie was fantastic company, too!” said Annie.
