Supermarket boosts funds for neonatal units

A REDDITCH charity that raises funds for hospital neonatal units has been given a boost by a town centre supermarket.

Sainsbury’s chose Tilly Totts as its charity of the year after it was nominated by customers.

Founders Amee and Russell Heath met with staff from the Alvechurch Highway store last week and are looking forward to the partnership.

Amee said: “We know the success the local charity partnership has brought to many charities in Redditch, so when we received the news, we were thrilled.

“We hope the partnership will help raise awareness of our cause amongst the store’s customers and help us develop the important service we provide to the community.”

Customers at the supermarket were urged to nominate their favourite ‘local charity’ who would then be given a year’s worth of support from the Sainsbury’s team.

Redditch store manager Tim Smedley said: “We’ve had a great response from our customers this year both through in-store and online votes and we’re delighted to have chosen a charity which touched many of our colleagues’ hearts.”
