DARTS fans will hit the big time next week with the chance of going head-to-head with two of the game’s biggest pros.
Andy Smith and Kevin Painter are taking part in an exhibition match at South Redditch Social Club in Throckmorton Road, Greenlands, to raise money for the charity Cystic Fibrosis, a cause close to the heart of event promoter Gary Valentine.
“I’ve had a friend whose son passed way with it so we’re going to try and raise a bit of money for that and just enjoy the night,” he said.
Smith and Painter will be taking on two of the best players from Redditch and Studley before the audience have their chance to play the professionals.
As well as standing at the oche, the two pros will be auctioning off signed shirts and a dartboard to raise even more money for the charity.
Andy ‘Pie Man’ Smith, said: “It’s a local event and if we can raise money for charity that’s great.
“Hopefully I’ll win all my games, but I’ll be offering some chances, I won’t just be bashing everybody. It’s about having a bit of fun and throwing some good darts.”
The event is on next Friday, August 7, and doors open at 7pm.
Tickets cost £15 from the social club or by calling 07801 730456.
