A GROUP of students raised more than £600 for charity after hosting a talent competition.

Molly Noke, Cally-Jo Dawson, Annie Stallard, Emily Taylor and Megan James, from Tudor Grange Academy Redditch’s sixth form, organised the event as part of their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

A total of 70 people turned up to watch the nine acts which included singers, dancers and musicians, while a panel of school teachers picked their favourite.

Singer Sophie Edkins was crowned the winner on the night, and raffle also saw people take home prizes from Gregg’s, Aldi and Lady Muck Vintage.

All the money from the night, which was held at the school, will be donated to the Primrose Hospice and Redditch Heart Safe.

Miss Noke said she was overwhelmed at the turnout and hoped to hold the event again next year.
