Team Lucie are funding heroes

Redditch Editorial 5th Jun, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

FUND-RAISERS who have donated thousands of pounds to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital have been recognised as heroes.

Members of The Lucie Southall Leukaemia Fund, which was formed in memory of the 12-year-old girl who lost her battle against leukaemia, were picked from 6,000 fundraisers to make it into the top 100.

Over the past 21 months family and friends of Lucie have held countless events to boost funds for the hospital which cared for the Winyates girl.

On the same day a poker event was held at Studley’s Swan Inn, while on Saturday, May 23, the team conquered Snowdon for Cure Leukaemia Birmingham.

And to mark their hard work they now have a special Team Lucie balloon which will stay at the entrance to the hospital for the next 12 months along with 99 others.
