A KIND-HEARTED pub manager will host The Big Pink Charity Night tonight Friday (October 16) to help give back to a cause which is close to her heart.

Brave Leeann Wallace, who manages the Duck Inn in Pheasant Lane, has been battling breast cancer for the last five months but has organised the event to give something back to Breast Cancer Care.

“I’m really looking forward to raising money for the charity,” Leeann said. “They have provided invaluable support to me any time of the day or night.”

The grateful mom-of-one would love to ideally raise £650 which will provide Breast Cancer Care with five lots of £132 – a figure which will pay for six sessions of their ‘Someone Like Me’ service which connects women with a trained volunteer who has direct experience with breast cancer and the issues she is facing.

The event, which kicks off at 7pm, is open to everyone and will be free of charge.

Guests can enjoy karaoke, a raffle and an auction with prizes including two Aston Villa tickets in a private box with a four-course meal and complimentary drinks.

With over 55,000 people diagnosed every year in the UK with breast cancer, Alec Raven, head of community fund-raising at Breast Cancer Care, has extended her thanks to Leeann’s generosity in organising the event.

She added: “We are so grateful to Leeann Wallace for all the hard work she has put in to organising this event.

“The funds raised will help Breast Cancer Care make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day.”
