Redditch Editorial 16th Jun, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THERE are severe weather warnings across Worcestershire with heavy rain expected for the rest of today (Thursday)

The Met Office has issued another yellow warning for Worcestershire and residents are told to expect heavy showers scattered throughout the day.

The temperature is expected to rise which will trigger slow moving thunderstorms and the risk of flooding has risen, particularly in urban area, with 15 to 20mm of rain predicted to fall in some locations.

Disruptions to travel are also expected across the county with lightening causing a further potential hazard on top of flooding.

Both the fire and ambulances services have also issued warnings to motorist to drive safely on the roads during the intense weather conditions.

Drivers are advised to pass slowly and carefully through large puddles and areas of standing water. If motorists come across a road that has been flooded, they should not attempt to drive through the water.
