A LUXURY raffle and counting competition hosted by a group of lively line-dancers has raised almost £1000 for the Primrose Hospice.

Jan Prior staged the event at the Palace Theatre on Tuesday (September 20) and a host of prizes were on offer, including a top of the ranger blender donated by local electrical company Hughes, bottles of champagne and prosecco.

Councillor Patti Hill (Lab, Batchley and Brockhill), who has been involved with Jan’s line-dancing shows since they were first launched, gave her full support to the event: “Line-dancing improves fitness, sociability and is great fun. I am delighted to support this event when the money raised will be going towards the Primrose Hospice – it couldn’t be going to a better cause.”

Kieth Lovett, from Hughes said the company was also keen to support the cause: “We have known Jan for a long time, so we were pleased to donate some items for the good cause and support Primrose.

“We wish Jan every success in her fund raising.”

Jan said : “I would like to give special thanks to Hughes’ and everyone who donated very generously towards the good cause.

“Around £530 was raised on the day itself, and we will be donating another £400 on top of this to the hospice.”

The Primrose Hospice are an independent charity who offer support and advice to patients living with life-limiting illnesses and their families in the North Worcestershire area.
