VOTERS threw their weight behind the Conservatives in the Stratford upon Avon parliamentary constituency, with incumbent Nadhim Zahawi seeing his share of the vote rise by over six per cent to 29.674.
Ukip’s Edward Fila also saw their vote rise, by over nine per cent but still finished a lowly second with 6,798 votes, just ahead of Labour’s Jeff Kenner with 6,677 votes, a rise of three and a half per cent.
Also seeing an increase in votes were the Green Party, with their candidate Dominic Giles receiving 2,128, an increase of over three per cent.
The big loser on the day was Elizabeth Adams of the Liberal Democrats who registered 6,182 votes, a fall of over 17 per cent on the figure for 2010.
