THE HISTORY and wonders of a Redditch church will be on show this Easter as it invites the public through its doors once again.

St Peter’s Church in Church Lane, Ipsley will welcome visitors to explore the building’s beauty and mysteries over the Easter Weekend from Saturday, March 26 to Monday, March 28.

There has been a church on the site since Anglo Saxon times as a priest was mentioned in the Doomsday book and St Peter’s is popular with visitors who want to explore family history, especially descendants of Sir John Huband, Knight of Ipsley who died in 1319.

Children can enjoy an treasure trail, which may feature an Easter Egg or two, while the braver visitors can take a tour of the bell tower on the Saturday afternoon with bell ringers on hand to provide information.

Visitors are welcome between 10am and 4pm over the course of the weekend and refreshments will be available.
