STAFF at historic Coughton Court are busy getting ready for their annual village fete on Saturday (July 9) from 12noon to 4pm.

The collaboration between the local community and Coughton Court is celebrating its sixth year and visitors will find a variety of traditional stalls and games for the whole family to enjoy.

Organiser Claire Hancox said: “It’s fantastic to have such a great relationship with the Coughton community and to be able to host the annual village fete for the sixth year.

“So far a fantastic £4,492 has been raised and put towards projects at Coughton Primary School, Sambourne Cemetery and the ford area.

“As well as being a great cause, it’s an opportunity for us all to get together and share a fun day out and this year we look forward to a traditional game of tug of war.”

Entrance to the fete and gardens, which feature many sweetly scented roses in a huge variety of colours alongside peonies and leaning towers of foxgloves, is free.

The Coach House Shop will also stocked for summer with gifts and treats and the restaurant will be open for visitors to enjoy a hot lunch, a cream tea or a traditional ice cream to accompany the summer weather.
