A DARING duo of cousins from Studley have more than tripled their target money and raised £1,700 in a charity tandem skydive.

Amelia and Emily Hopkins took the plunge on Sunday (July 24) at the Hinton Skydive Centre and their family are delighted at what the girls have done for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Amelia’s dad, Russell Hopkins said: “I am very proud of my daughter Amelia and my niece Emily for what they achieved this weekend.

“It is very refreshing to experience such positive thought and kindness in our fragmented world, at any level and even more at 15,000ft.”

Having lost close relatives to cancer, the pair wanted to give something back and ensure that the best services are available to the people who need them most.

22-year-old Amelia said: “We have taken on this huge challenge for three special people – our Poppa, my dad, and Emily’s Nanny Barbara.

She added: “Cancer is something that has touched our family a lot in recent years, so I feel it’s a vital cause to support.

“Macmillan are amazing – not just for supporting the patient but also for the family too.

“I cannot thank Macmillan enough for giving the help that families need at such hard times.”

The duo’s original target of £500 has been smashed, but people can still donate here: http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Amelia-Emily-Hopkins
