THE County Council is proposing to open an Early Years Specialist Language provision at Batchley First School.
The provision would be reserved for pre-school age children with specific speech, language and communication difficulties and disorders which require specialist input.
A parent of one child who receives Specialist Language Provision said: “[My son] started a very shy and frustrated boy who was unable to speak any words. After two terms, I feel as though my little boy is back, he’s confident, not afraid of trying new words and sounds. He’s happy and is beginning to make friends.”
Councillor Marc Bayliss, (Con, Worcs St Peters) Cabinet member with responsibility for children and families said: “This additional provision would mean that more children have access to specialist support to help prepare them for life at school.”
