ALMOST a quarter of a million pounds of Redditch Borough Council grant funding is now up for grabs for local voluntary and community projects.

Voluntary and community work in Redditch will be supported by £237,000 worth of funding grants next year and groups are now being urged to apply for them over the coming months.

The grant scheme opens for bids next week (Monday, September 26) bids will be considered for projects and initiatives that help deliver services to the local community and which match needs laid out by the council, including services to encourage financial independence, independent living, keeping the area safe and looking good, supporting good things to do, see and visit in the area, and creating and maintaining stronger communities.

Coun Bill Hartnett, council Leader, said: “We are proud to continue offering these grants as a way of ensuring community groups have a source of local funding that’s accessible and easy to apply for.

“No idea is too big or small, and help is available if you’re unsure of the process. If you are part of a local voluntary or community sector organisations and you have an idea then please get in touch. It could be the start of something great.”

Applications for bids close on November 11 and to find out more, including how to apply and where to get help to make bids, organisations are encouraged to attend a special grants workshop at Redditch Town Hall on October 11 at 2pm.
