STAFF from McDonald’s restaurants in Redditch and Alcester are on their way to raising £2,000 after making a bed at the top of one of Britain’s highest mountains.
The Snowdon ‘Make a Bed’ challenge saw each member of the 25 strong team carry a part of the bed up the Welsh mountain – everything from a pillow and quilt through to a headboard and slats for the base.
The bed was built on the summit and then dismantled before being carried back down the mountain track.
Money raised from their exploits will support a scheme which aims to replace bed line on each of the 240 beds at the Ronald McDonald House which provides accommodation for families of children being treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
