Which charity could benefit from £500?

Redditch Editorial 14th Aug, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

DO YOU know a local community group or charity that could benefit from a £500 cash boost?

The Redditch Standard has teamed up with leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey to offer worthy causes the chance to receive £500 in our fantastic Community Chest campaign.

We are inviting you, our readers, to nominate good causes in the Redditch area which you feel are most deserving of this incredible cash award.

Whether it’s a local charity which relies on donations to carry out its work in the community, or a group or organisation which makes a real difference in your neighbourhood, we want to hear where you think the money would be best spent.

Anne Wallace, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, which is currently building new homes at its Lucet Meadow development in Redditch and its Jasmine Gardens development in nearby Wychbold, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for readers to nominate their favourite local cause to receive a very special thank you in the form of the £500 Community Chest.

“We are delighted to be teaming up with the Redditch Standard for this special initiative and hope people will take the opportunity to nominate the unsung heroes in their community.”

Readers have until Friday, August 29 to put forward their nominations for the Community Chest. Our editorial team will then whittle down the nominations to produce a shortlist of the most deserving causes, before inviting readers to vote for their favourite.

Shortlisted nominations for the Community Chest will also receive the added bonus of publicity in the Redditch Standard, helping them to raise their profile across our circulation area.

Ian Dipple, Editor of the Redditch Standard, added: “We know there are many organisations in our area which do great work in the community, and what better way to say thank you than by putting them forward for this cash award.”

To nominate a good cause for the Community Chest, email [email protected] with ‘Community Chest nomination’ in the subject line, and include your name, telephone number, details of the organisation you are nominating and why you think it should receive the £500 award.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday, August 29.
