A WOMAN in her 60s was airlifted to the Alexandra Hospital yesterday (Thursday) after falling in a boggy field and breaking her arm.

The accident happened in a field off Spernal Lane near Studley when the woman was out walking with her family and a dog.

Following a call to emergency services at 2.47pm, a community first responder and an ambulance crew initially attended the scene but had to request an air ambulance due to the location.

An ambulance spokesman said: “Our staff had to walk down a narrow lane and across a field to where the woman was and there was no vehicle access.

“She had a suspected fractured arm and was in a lot of pain.”

The Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham was dispatched and critical care paramedics on board gave advanced pain relief before the woman was airlifted the short distance to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
