A REDDITCH woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man’s body was found at his home in Abbeydale.

The 49-year-old was taken into custody yesterday (Tuesday) and is being questioned by police over the death of David Simon McTighe.

Emergency services were called to the 43-year-old’s home on Seymour Drive on Monday, June 13, at 1.40am where they found Mr McTighe with a serious head injury.

A post-mortem examination deemed the wound to be suspicious, sparking the police investigation.

Detective Inspector Jim Bayliss said: “We are in the early stages of investigating the circumstances leading to David’s death and we are keen to trace anyone who knows him or who may have seen or heard from him between Sunday, June 5 and Monday, June 13.

“We are appealing to the local community to come forward with any information, even if it appears insignificant, which could help us piece together David’s movements and activities before his death.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on the non emergency 101 number or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
