Woman pushed to the ground in Matchborough bag robbery

A THUG pushed a woman to the ground and snatched her bag during a robbery in Matchborough.

The 57-year-old victim, who was hurt in the incident, was walking home along Drayton Close after getting off the 58 bus at around 2pm on Sunday (October 4).

She was approached from behind and grabbed by the offender who, after shoving her to the ground, grabbed her black canvas handbag and made off towards Eathorpe Close.

The thief escaped with her phone, a purse containing around £10, a bottle of perfume, two house keys, a pale blue wallet containing store cards and a bank card.




He is described as a white around 5ft 11ins to 6ft, in his late teen or early 20s and was wearing blue clothing.

Anyone who saw a man of this description in the area during the time of the robbery, or who has found property matching the description, should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 352s of October 4.
