A CHARITY open day to launch a new Wythall salon with goodie bags, a raffle and canapes will be held on Sunday (August 23).

Kate Homan, the owner of The Luxury Spot, on Station Road, has also announced her chosen charity of the year – Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The first 50 guests who attend the event, taking place between 2pm and 6pm, with receive a free goodie bag with a selection of hair and beauty treats.

There will also be a raffle with prizes including vouchers of up to £100 which can be spent at the salon.

Kate, 24, said she started her business thanks to the help of The Prince’s Trust in Birmingham and had previously raised money for numerous charities.

She added they had been very busy recently and had even managed to make it into the last five of the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year Competition.

Kate said: “I like Acorns because they care for the children and give support to their families.

“Acorns is such a good charity and we plan to raise money for them through out the year.”
