YOBS have ripped up a large patch of the special tarmac at the children’s roundabout in the Crooks Lane Recreation Ground in Studley.
The ‘wet pour surface’ was replaced less than six months ago at a cost of £2,695 and the damage, where the children run around, has meant the roundabout has had to be removed.
Experts estimate that it will cost £540 to repair, money that will have to be found out of the council tax precept.
However parish councillors are confident they will identify the culprits as the entire area is covered by CCTV and police are currently examining the film.
The incident was reported on Friday, May 27.
