You’ll be wise to get snapping Percy in Redditch

SIGHTINGS of a giant owl are being reported right across the UK and word is that the huge bird of prey will be landing in a Redditch street soon.

But fret not, as the owl means no harm and is arriving only to assist recruitment experts Pertemps in raising money that will benefit sick children.

His name is Percy and he is currently undertaking a tour of the country as part of a charity campaign to collect funds for children’s hospitals nationwide.

Members of the public are being encouraged to call in and see Percy, have a photograph with him and take part in fun competitions with a prize of a family trip to Lapland up for grabs this coming Christmas.

Pertemps last year celebrated 30 years in Redditch and the team recently won a company award for its work in supporting local communities and charities.

Percy the owl was purchased by Pertemps at a public auction following their sponsorship of an art exhibition called ‘The Big Hoot’ that raised more than £500,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
