THE CROWN green bowling week featured the final of the Yardley Wood Consolation Cup between Alcester A and Hall Green A, held on the West Midlands Transport green.
Honours went to the Hall Green team, who won the day by 12 shots. Alcester fought bravely, but could only manage three winners in the shape of John Slater (21-11) and Dave Hovell and Ken Harvey (both 21-20).
The only other match of the week saw Alcester A travel to Black Horse A in Heart of England Over 60s Division One and they recorded their third away win of the season to ensure their continued presence in the top flight for next season.
