Black Horse back on top but Austin loom in race for Premier title

BLACK Horse returned to the top of the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination Premier Division as Dave Edwards scored a hat-trick in their 6-1 victory at Millfield Rovers.

However, Austin Ex-Apprentices remain hot on their heels in third place – three points behind with two games in hand – following a routine 5-0 home win against South Redditch in which Stephen Thorn scored a hat-trick.

Sandwiched in between the two long-standing rivals are OKH Sporting Dynamo who are a point behind Black Horse having played the same number of games as the leaders.

In Division One second placed Studley Railway are only two points behind leaders Red Lion with a game in hand after their 5-1 home victory against Redditch Cross in which Jamie Walsh scored a hat-trick.

In the other game in this division New Woodland Cottage won 1-0 at Redolence Park.

In Group Two of the Subsidiary Cup Lodge Park RA beat visitors VKL United 1-0 and Rubery Bridge went on a scoring frenzy as they thumped hosts Redditch Town 10-1 thanks in chief to goals from Jordan Durose (4) and Oliver Birchill (3).

In Group Three there was a 1-1 draw between Beoley Village and visitors Rubery Legends.
