THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE Cross Country League came to a conclusion at the University of Warwick campus and there was plenty to smile about for Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club duo Tamara Freeman and Simon Lanckham.
The course was very muddy in sections and in the 7.3km ladies’ race Freeman powered home in sixth place.
She was followed by Charlotte Ball in 43rd (third placed over 55) and hot on her heels in 47th was Jane Anderson as the B&R team finished tenth overall.
The men had a 10.1km course and Lanckham finished a superb season for himself with eighth place which secured fourth position overall in the series.
Sean Bowden was 38th, Andrew Freeman 44th, Ian Keyte 58th, Rob Humphries 59th and Sam Lake 96th as the team finished eighth overall.
The next cross country meeting for B&R is the National Cross Country Championships at Castle Donington.
