Exciting times ahead for jump rope aces

Redditch Editorial 6th Jan, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

THERE will be a new driving force behind the National Speed Championships and Jump Rope UK Festival 2015 following a change at the helm.

Dedicated local couple Sue and Chris Dale have stepped down from the British Rope Skipping Association after 15 years of voluntary work for the team, but these popular and exciting events in the jump rope calendar remain in safe hands thanks to their Warwickshire-based daughter Rachael Dale and her Angel Eyes Event Planning business.

The company is organising both events to be held over one weekend – May 23/24 – at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire.

Rachael, who is a full-time coach for Jump Rope UK, recently graduated as an international event and wedding planner through QC event planning and since qualifying she has been able to help organise and attend a gala masquerade ball in Florida for the World Jump Rope Championships 2013.

In addition to organising birthday parties, corporate events and weddings, Rachael also shares her expertise within rope skipping. As a British champion at rope skipping, she dedicates her time to organising competitions, festivals, fund-raisers and awards evenings for her team.

Rachael, who is also holding fund-raisers for Jump Rope UK whose skippers are participating in the World Jump Rope Championships in Paris this year, is relishing this latest challenge.

“We are looking to promote the speed and festival events to schools and competitive teams. All abilities are welcome as we have a novice and national competition in the Speed Championships.” she said.

“Last year we had 120 participants in the Festival and 100 competitors in the Speed Championships. For ages five to 30, we are looking to have more there this year.”

Angel Eyes Event Planning has just taken on a new event planner, Karen Allen, who will help Rachael in the company’s specialising of sporting events and fund-raisers, as well as expanding into the wedding industry and party industry.

The national jump rope scene has been left in good hands by Sue and Chris Dale, with coach Sue in particular having dedicated almost 20 years to the sport, helping it to grow locally in Redditch and Studley and at national and international level.
