FORTY-SEVEN goals were scored in the opening six matches of the Redditch & South Warwickshire Combination League on Sunday.

Austin Ex-Apprentices wasted no time in continuing on their goal trail of last season as they cruised to a 22-0 victory over South Redditch.

Andy Nicol scored nine, Liam Spink four and Craig Spink three, whilst Richard Druing, Paul Longhorn, Will Parker, Sam Griffin and Josh Westwood also netted.

Golden Cross AFC enjoyed an 8-0 victory over new boys S O Goose Greenlands as Mark Wilkes scored a hat-trick and Tobias Teague and Mark Styler both bagged braces, whilst Rhys Whitehouse was also on the mark.

New Woodland Cottage beat Lodge Park 8-2 in a great game.

Woodland Cottage went in 3-0 up at half time before Lodge Park scored early in the second half and continued to battle as they only trailed 4-2, but Woodland then ran away with things in the closing stages.

Adam Crombie (3), Ray Butters (2), Dimitri Wilkinson, Ryan Butler and Scott Harbon scored for Woodland, with Terry Nolan and Elliot Smith on the mark for Lodge Park.

Redditch Cross beat Shakespeare Studley 5-1 as the goals were shared between Walton, Chambers, Bailey, Higgins and Taylor-Jones. Tapsell netted for Shakespeare.

Beoley Village secured a 1-0 win over Studley Swan thanks to Mario Prota’s goal and the match between AFC Lions and VKL United ended goalless.
