THE YOUNGSTERS did Cookhill Cricket Club proud when they competed in the club’s first ever junior game on Monday evening.
Hosts Tanworth & Camp Hill won an exciting match by just two runs in front of a healthy number of fans who made the journey from Cookhill.
Cookhill bowled first and were soon into their stride as they took three wickets in the first over.
Eventually the Cookhill batsmen set about chasing down the runs and all the boys chipped in with steady runs, but they fell just short of their victory target in what was a very enjoyable game for all involved.
The return fixture is at Cookhill on Monday, July 21 at 6.15pm.
