NOMINATIONS continue to arrive for the 2015 Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Awards and there is still time for you to put forward your suggestions as to who should be in contention for honours.

Worcester Warriors’ Sixways stadium will again play host to the glittering awards night on November 4 and for the second year running Bullivant Media – publisher of the Redditch Standard – is sponsoring the headline Sports Personality of the Year award – one of 14 honours to be given out.

Members of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire community have been putting forward candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their sporting achievement and dedication to sport within their community and you have until noon on Friday, August 28 to do likewise.

Stephen Brewster, Director of The Sports Partnership, said: “This event is our chance to honour our local sportsmen and women, coaches, volunteers, clubs and officials.

“Over the years, we’ve received such huge support for the awards and feel it’s important the local community get their say on who has made an impact on sport, young people and local communities.

“Recognising sporting achievements and celebrating good practice within the sporting community is at the very heart of what we do and we will be championing the hard work and talent that exists within Herefordshire and Worcestershire.”

The categories for which you can nominate your sporting favourite are: Senior Male/Female Sports Person of the Year; Junior Male/Female Sports Person of the Year; Coach of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year; Junior Team of the Year; Community Club of the Year; Disabled Sports Person of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Unsung Hero; Community Project of the Year; BBC Newcomer (new nomination criteria).

The Sports Personality of the Year candidates will be pre-selected finalists chosen by a panel, but voting will be open to the public.

Details about the awards categories and registration for nominations can be found at www.morethansport.com/sportsawards.
