FORMER Formula One world champion Nigel Mansell CBE has officially opened a new Pro Shop Swing Room at Redditch Golf Club.
The new facility provided by club professional David Down and assistant professional Alex Richardson features SkyTrak technology which means members and guests can enjoy lessons, custom fitting, GAP testing, ball fitting and also solo practice sessions in the warm and dry.
When fully operational, full course simulation will allow members to play some of the world’s finest courses without having to leave Redditch Golf Club.
Mansell was the guest of club captain Nigel Clay and the 1992 F1 world champion played the course during his visit and presented prizes at the awards dinner in the evening.
Clay said: “Nigel Mansell is a great golfer and a long-standing friend and I was delighted he agreed to be our guest of honour.
“He said many complimentary things about the course and the comprehensive facilities our members now enjoy at Redditch Golf Club and was pleased to be asked to open our new Pro Shop Swing Room.
“This will further enhance the facilities at the club and means members can no longer use the excuse of winter weather for not practising and working on their game!”
