WHITE HART have had a mixed bag of results over the last week in various league and cup matches.

Their Saturday team in Premier Division Five of the prestigious Warwickshire and Worcestershire League gained a fine 206-193 home victory over Erdington and Richmond, including a 21-6 win for Stuart Rice who was well supported by Dave Kings (21-13), Ken Brown (21-18), Ian Humphreys (21-20) and captain Tony Sugden (21-18).

The Friday Over 60s B team stay top of Heart Of England Division Three after a comfortable 124-81 victory at home to Solihull RBL A.

Individual wins for Gill Croft (21-7), Mick Perrins (21-10), Sheila Humphreys (21-11), Ian Humphreys (21-11) and Sue Sugden (21-17) put White Hart on the same number of points as Baldwin but ahead on shot difference.

The Heart of England A team were narrowly beaten 114-108 at home by Royal Austin British Legion A in Division One. Captain Mike Estell (21-16) and Ray Richards (21-14) were their two winners, while Ken Brown was only beaten by a single shot.

Both White Hart teams were eliminated from the Heart of England Thursday Cup after being unfortunate enough to draw two of the strongest teams in the first round.

The A team lost 162-95 to Maggies A, while the B team succumbed 168-92 to RABL A.

A rearranged match in Division Three saw White Hart B narrowly defeated 146-134 despite good wins for captain Norman Batchelor (21-12), Tony Sugden (21-16), Tim Hollingshead (21-17) and Ken Brown (21-18). They now sit third in the league at this early stage of the season.

White Hart’s A team in SW Birmingham League Division One gained a fine 119-89 victory at British Oak A which lifted them into a mid-table seventh place.

Their four winners were Tony Sugden (21-9), Mike Estell (21-14), Norman Batchelor (21-10), and Graham Arnott (21-14), while Ray Richards and captain Ian Humphreys were both only narrowly defeated.

White Hart also occupy seventh position in Sunday Northfield & District League Division Two after a 157-117 defeat to Wythall A.

The two winning cards were from Ian Humphreys (21-15) and captain Mick Perrins (21-16) and there were good supporting cards from Stan Pritchard (14-21), Gill Croft (19-21) and Tim Hollingshead (13-21). Croft and Hollingshead were both both making their A team debuts.

The B team slipped from top spot to fourth in Division Four after a close 128-119 defeat to Triplex B.

Both teams were boasting unbeaten records prior to the match and the Redditch club were narrowly second best despite good winning cards from Paul Matthews (21-8), Tony Sugden (21-6), Neil Laxton (21-14) and Dave Kings, who fought back strongly from a heavy early deficit to win 21-16.

White Hart B have a game in hand on the second and third placed teams so are still well in contention in the division.
