WHITE Hart’s Sunday A team won two matches on the final day of the season to win the Northfield & District League Division Three title by a single point from Maggies, who they defeated 160-103 in the morning game.

Highlights were wins to single figures by Mick Perrins 21-7, Ian Humphreys 21-7 and Stuart Rice 21-6.

They then went on to thrash Tanworth 161-85 in the afternoon, with single-figure victories for Rice 21-1, Sheila Humphreys 21-4, Paul Matthews 21-5 and captain Stan Pritchard 21-6.

This means that both White Hart Sunday teams will be playing in a higher league next season after the B team’s promotion from Division Five the previous week.

In the Heart of England over 60s League Division One, White Hart A defeated hosts Black Horse 108-95 as they had four winners – Mike Estell 21-14, Ian Humphreys 21-18, Graham Arnott 21-5 and Ken Brown 21-16 – taking them to sixth place in the league.

The B team were narrowly beaten at home by Woodlands Park by three shots despite having three comfortable winners – Sheila Humphreys 21-9, Gill Croft and Anne Batchelor (both 21-14) – but they are safe from relegation in seventh place.

The Warwick & Worcester Saturday team ended their Premier Division Four campaign with a home 204-189 defeat by Pheasant. They had five winners from the 12 ties – Rice 21-8, captain Pritchard 21-9, Dave Kings 21-13, Estell 21-17 and Sheila Humphreys 21-10.

White Hart are holding an open day on Saturday, October 3 from 11am to 3pm at the bowling green and Headless Cross Orchard. Everyone is welcome.
