THOMAS BROTHERS became the third different team to get their name on the Bromsgrove & District Football League Premier Division trophy since its inception in the 2011/12 season as they sealed the title in dramatic style.
The Redditch-based team, who play their home matches at the HDA club in Batchley, were crowned champions thanks to a dramatic 3-2 victory over reigning champions Victoria Barnt Green Fairfield, for whom two defeats inside four days ended their challenge for top spot.
Ryan Molesworth and Dan Wilkes were on the mark for VBGF but goals from Stuart Hall, Rob Burkus and Kelvin White ensured Thomas Brothers were crowned top dogs.
The team, backed by the Redditch-based funeral directors, then put the seal on a fine season with a 3-2 victory over Worcester outfit WCT Youth Raiders in their final game on Sunday, when they were presented with the trophy.
