WHITE HART’S B team look promotion certainties after an easy win at Tanworth in Division Three of the Heart of England Over 60s League.

They had a full set of winning cards from Ken Brown (21-8), Mick Perrins (21-9), Rob Faulks (21-16), Sheila Humphreys (21-18) and Tom Hawkes and captain Brian Chatterley (both 21-20) which gave them a 126-91 victory.

The A team also gained a fine 119-106 home victory over Wythall A in Division One, with four individual winners.

Ian Humphreys (21-12), Tony Sugden (21-16), Norman Batchelor (21-17) and captain Mike Estell (21-19) all won their ties, while Graham Arnott picked up valuable shots in losing 21-20 after being 19-9 down at one stage.

In the Warwickshire/Worcestershire Saturday League, White Hart are still flirting with relegation from Premier Division Five after a narrow 206-198 defeat at Deers Leap, who are currently second bottom, just one point behind the Redditch club.

Hart had five winners – Ken Brown 21-6, Matt Higgins 21-7, Sue Sugden 21-13, Stuart Rice 21-15 and Norman Batchelor 21-18. The return match this Saturday at home will prove vital to the final outcome.

In the Sunday Northfield & District League, White Hart B are still in the promotion hunt after a comfortable 156-91 victory at home to Romsley Hunnington B.

The Redditch team had seven winners – Tony Sugden 21-1, Matt Higgins 21-4, Tim Hollingshead 21-7, Ian Humphreys and Mick Perrins both 21-13, Kirk Wright 21-14 and Tom Hawkes 21-18.

They still lie in sixth position in Division Four but have games in hand on all the teams above them.

In the SW Birmingham Tuesday Over 60s League Division One, White Hart narrowly defeated visitors Colebrook A 111-103, which keeps them in a mid-table seventh position.

They only had two winners – Ken Brown 21-5 and Graham Arnott 21-14 – but were well supported by respectable scores from the other four players.
