THERE is just over a week until the Redditch Standard’s Baby of the Year competition returns for 2023.
The organisers hope once again hundreds of bonnie babies will have their photographs taken and enter the contest which is all absolutely free of charge.
Professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell will be setting up her mobile studio by The Works and Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre from next Monday, April 17 to Sunday, April 30.
There are two age groups – 0 to 18 months and 19 months to three years. All people have to do is take their baby along between 9.30am and 4.30pm (10.30am to 3.30pm on Sundays) and Andrea will take a selection of professional photographs. No appointment is necessary.
After the pictures are taken, parents and guardians will be asked back a few days later to choose which print to enter into our competition.
Andrea will also be offering a selection of the prints to buy at an extremely competitive price, but there is no obligation whatsoever to do so.
Voting will take place via our redditchstandard.co.uk website where people can click and vote for the their favourite – please note no child’s name will appear.
The ten babies receiving the most votes will go through to our final, along with ten more babies selected by our independent panel of judges.
First prize in each category will be a large 20x24ins canvas wrap portrait of your child plus a special Jellycat toy, together worth £200, while second prize will also be a canvas portrait – 12x10ins – of your child worth £100 plus a Jellycat toy.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.
