A CARE home in Studley is offering free weekly home-cooked lunches for older people in the area.
From 1pm every Thursday afternoon, the over 65s community will be welcomed to Haywood Lodge by residents and staff for lunch and a game of bingo to support those looking to connect with like-minded people and build new friendships.
Home manager Georgia Cooney said: “With the cost-of-living increasing, we’re aware that some may be having a tough time.
“This is our way of offering a helping hand to our local community and we hope it gives them something to look forward to each week.”
Beryl Stevenson, 88, added: “I’m very pleased – it’ll be lovely to meet some new people and I hope having a nice homely meal with us will help others.
“They’ll be very welcome to join us.”
