WORCESTERSHIRE County Council will receive over £7million of Government funding to help families that need support in the face of rising costs.

This funding takes the total level of support provided to Worcestershire residents to over 19million.

The Household Support Fund is a discretionary fund provided to local councils enabling them to provide support to vulnerable families struggling to cover essential costs who may not be eligible for other Government support schemes.

Redditch MP Rachel Maclean said: “I’ve seen first-hand how this funding has been supporting many of my constituents thanks to the work of Act on Energy who have attended my cost of living drop-in events.

“The support from the Household Support Fund has clearly been needed, so I’m pleased to see the Government is providing Worcestershire with a further £7.8 million.

“As costs remain high for families, I will continue to do everything I can to support my constituents at this difficult time.”
