A REDDITCH diving club is appealing for members after the Covid pandemic reduced membership.
Redditch Sub Aqua Club, based out of the Abbey Stadium, are a British Sub Aqua Club ( BSAC) and are supported by volunteer instructors.
They owning a six meter rib in Plymouth, and regularly arrange weekend trips to the south coast of the UK with more exotic locations organised throughout the year.
In previous years they have visited Cuba, Norway, Egypt, and Ireland.
Mark Dorgan, a volunteer diver at the club said: “Since Covid the amount of members we have coming in has decreased massively which means its a struggle to keep the pool sessions going and the equipment maintained and tested, the testing is of course compulsory.
“We also struggle to compete with the local PADI organisations as they are commercial so can afford to market themselves.
“We run try dives for anyone wanting to try, we also have regular visits to local dive quarries and have arranged trips abroad.”
