NEW Walking Cricket sessions will be launching In Redditch, thanks to Worcestershire Cricket (WC) and Worcestershire Association of Carers.
There will be 12 weeks of free sessions, including all equipment and coaching provided by Worcestershire Cricket, for anyone who wants to come along and give it a try.
Sessions run every Monday from 6pm to 7pm at the Terry Memorial Fields, starting this Monday, June 19.
Coun Joanne Beecham, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for leisure services, said: “I am thrilled to support the launch of these new Walking Cricket sessions.
“Our walking sports programs are always very well received, and I have no doubt that this one will be too.
“This programme exemplifies our commitment to promoting active aging and providing inclusive recreational activities for all our residents.
“Walking Cricket not only offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the sport but also fosters social connections and enhances overall wellbeing.”
Redditch Borough Council leader, Coun Matt Dormer, added: “This programme is designed to enhance health and wellbeing within the community and provides a unique and inclusive opportunity for residents to stay active, no matter their fitness level, connect with fellow enthusiasts and enjoy the sport they love.”
