COOKHILL Flower Festival has returned for another blooming good year of bouquets and a musical performance from Worcester Salvation Army Band.

The flower festival has been held annually at Cookhill Baptist Church for over 20 years providing wonderful flower displays and refreshments for visitors.

This years theme ‘What a Wonderful World’ was inspired by the bibles seven days of creation and featured bouquets to represent light and dark, atmosphere and firmament, ground and plants, sun, moon and stars, birds and sea creatures, lands animals and humans and the final day of rest.

Taking place from Thursday June, 22 to Sunday June, 25, dozens of visitors joined church members to explore the flower displays over relaxing coffee mornings, ploughman’s lunches and afternoon cream teas.

Sunday mornings air was filled with the sounds of children playing and brass music as Worcester Salvation Army band were joined by their families to perform for visitors.

Jackie Morgan, church secretary said: “We want to thank all those who worked to make the flower displays as beautiful as every year. A massive thank you to visitors for joining us and to the caterers for keeping everyone refreshed and looked after.

“The Worcester Salvation Army band were wonderful and we’re grateful for the lovely weather over the weekend also.”
