ILLEGAL ‘oversized’ vapes were seized from shops in Redditch during raids by Worcesteshire Trading Standards on Tuesday July, 4.
The seizures came from raids at two stores in the town, one of which was already known to trading standards as having possessed illegal vapes for sale in the past.
The legal maximum tank size for an e-cigarette is 2ml (or around 600 puffs), whilst ‘oversized’ vapes can have anywhere up to 3500 puffs.
Police and trading standards have also warned that the packaging used to market vapes appears to be targeted towards teenagers.
Trading standards often rely on information passed on to officers by members of the public in order to carry out these types of raids successfully.
