A ROAD in Majors Green is to be closed for a week after a car smashed into a house.
The collision, involving the Audi car in the early hours of last Saturday morning, led to the two-storey house sustaining serious damage on both floors and a fire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Redditch and Droitwich, attended, along with a crew from West Midlands Fire Service.
Miraculously no-one was injured.
A section of Peterbrook Road and Truemans Heath Lane was expected to be closed for two days.
However, due to the severity of the damage, the car has remained in place to hold the house up.
Truemans Heath Lane and Peterbrook Road will be closed until July 10.
A spokesperson for Wythall Parish council said: “There is a likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road.
“A structural engineer is due to attend today to give directions as to what happens next.”
